The Sega Saturn is a home video game console developed by Sega and released on November 22, 1994, in Japan, May 11, 1995, in North America, and July 8, 1995, in Europe. Part of the fifth generation of video game consoles, it is the successor to the successful Genesis. The Saturn has a dual-CPU architecture and eight processors. Its games are in CD-ROM format, including several ports of arcade games and original games.
The Sega Genesis, known as the Mega Drive outside North America, is a 16-bit fourth generation home video game console developed and sold by Sega. It was Sega's third console and the successor to the Master System. Sega released it in 1988 in Japan as the Mega Drive, and in 1989 in North America as the Genesis.

The Mega Drive (メガドライブ Mega Doraibu), also known as the Sega Genesis in North America, was Sega's third console.
It was Sega's most successful console, selling over 30 million units worldwide, including more than 20 million in the United States, 8 million in Europe, 3.58 million in Japan, and 3 million in Brazil. Its rival was the SNES. The Mega Drive / Genesis outsold the SNES in Europe and Brazil, however the SNES outsold the Mega Drive in Japan, North America and Spanish America.
Once there were two scientists, Dr. Thomas Light and dr. Albert Wily. These scientists were friends, colleagues AND bitter rivals, either working together on many projects, or competing against each other in the field of robotics while maintaining their friendship.
One day, dr. Light successfully a NEW, more advanced type of robot, more advanced than those who came before that revolutionized the field. These "robot masters" had prebuilt personalities; were stronger, faster, tougher than all previous robots, and could aid humanity in a variety of tasks and labor.
Bitter, jealous and resentful of his friend's newfound success, dr. Wily stole six of dr. Light's newly invented robot masters, which he then used in a plot to conquer the world, leaving him with only two housekeeping robots named Rock and Roll. Seeing his creator so distraught, Rock volunteers to go recover (or destroy) the stolen robots and stop dr. Wily, letting dr. Light modify him into a combat model, becoming the super fighting robot: Megaman.
Megaman successfully stops Wily's plans for world domination, but he manages to escape justice and from then on becomes and ever persistent menace, at times making his own robot masters for world domination, at times stealing others.
